Chief Strategy Officer, Cloudera
Mike (@mikeolson) co-founded Cloudera in 2008 and served as its CEO until 2013 when he took on his current role of chief strategy officer (CSO.) As CSO, Mike is responsible for Cloudera’s product strategy, open source leadership, engineering alignment and direct engagement with customers. Prior to Cloudera Mike was CEO of Sleepycat Software, makers of Berkeley DB, the open source embedded database engine. Mike spent two years at Oracle Corporation as vice president for Embedded Technologies after Oracle’s acquisition of Sleepycat in 2006. Prior to joining Sleepycat, Mike held technical and business positions at database vendors Britton Lee, Illustra Information Technologies and Informix Software. Mike has a Bachelor’s and a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley.
Principal Analyst, Ovum
Andrew enjoys the challenge of working with state-of-the-art technology and, as a member of the Ovum IT security team within the IT Solutions practice, he has the opportunity to evaluate and provide opinion on the latest security matters. He is responsible for research on the key technologies used to protect public and private sector organisations, their operational systems, and their users. The role provides a balanced opportunity to promote the need for good business protection and, at the same time, to research the latest threat approaches. In his position as a principal IT security analyst, Andrew has worked to promote the delivery of research on business- and user-focused security systems and written papers on a wide range of business- and technology-related areas. Andrew has been the lead author on a number of major security reports on subjects including identity and access management, security management and, most recently, information security, data loss prevention, and web security. He is also a regular speaker at Ovum strategy briefings and master classes, and has undertaken external speaking engagements. Andrew has worked in the IT industry for over 30 years and, before joining Ovum, was employed as an operations manager and business analyst for an internationally known high street retail service provider. He was responsible for the management and implementation of the company’s EPOS systems and for the selection, deployment, management, and operation of its supporting business systems. Prior to this, Andrew worked as a systems analyst and project manager for a large financial services organisation.
Director Big Data Solutions, Intel
Jeff heads up the Big Data Solution Enablement team at Intel. He has over 20 years of experience helping organizations quickly get value from new technology investments and has delivered solutions for top finance, retail and healthcare companies around the world. Prior to joining Intel, Jeff held technology leadership roles at companies including American Express, McKesson and Oracle where he delivered solutions for global corporate groups including security and risk management. Jeff is based in New Jersey and has a degree in Applied Mathematics degree from Stony Brook University.
Senior Manager, Information Security Consulting, Accenture
Patrick Joyce is a Senior Manager with Accenture's Information Security consulting and managed services business. Patrick has over 12 years of experience working in the information security industry focusing on cyber security, compliance, and risk management. Joyce currently serves as offering development lead for Accenture’s Cyber Intelligence Platform, a big data based security analytics and threat hunting capability. Patrick lives and works near Boston Massachusetts, hold the industry recognized CISSP certification, and is a SABSA certified security architect.
