Data is transforming industries and creating massive value for businesses. Taking advantage of these opportunities, including the internet of things, requires a modern approach to working with data, and success takes more than just applying new technologies like Apache Hadoop. Join us to learn how to get started on your journey to a data strategy.

Featuring a guest presentation from Intel Corporation.

10:00AM - Partner Pavilion

10:30AM - Customer speaker: Children's Healthcare of Atlanta

10:50AM - Customer speaker: Wellcentive

Population health management requires data to support the decisions being made by physician organizations, in order to provide value-based care. The data is collected and submitted on time intervals throughout the year, but when submissions deadline come (once a year) Wellcentive may need to reprocess information to apply corrections. This task can be taxing if you are limited to the speed of a single database. Wellcentive has built a Hadoop architecture that allowed their submission time for one customer to move ~13 times faster.

11:10AM - Customer speaker: Thomson Reuters

Lessons learned so far: building a content management, sharing and transformation platform on Hadoop

Thomson Reuters delivers ‘must have’ information and software to professionals in the Finance, Tax and Legal markets worldwide. The Hadoop stack is a natural fit for many of our needs here and we’re using it to re-invent how we ingest, store and process information. In this session, Dan will present why we chose Hadoop and what we’ve learnt so far.

11:30AM - Panel: How Do I Get Started?

12:00PM - Lunch

1:00PM - Breakouts

Hadoop and Spark Essentials

New to Hadoop and Spark or still need to sharpen your understanding? Trying to figure out what Sqoop, Flume or Hive are and what they can be used for? If so, you're not alone. Hands on Hadoop and Spark is the ultimate guide to help you take your understanding to the next level. Join Cloudera as we take you through the origins of Hadoop, discuss existing and new projects, what they are used for, and how you can apply Hadoop and Spark to modernize your data architecture.

Architecture Modernization -Kafka and Spark 101

As organizations become dependent on bringing in more data for analysis new demands are placed on the systems that process and ingest data.  Slow performance and data format restrictions can cause delays in delivering insights to the business or prohibit data from even being captured.  Cloudera Enterprise offers a modern solution for ingesting and processing data quickly and securely.  Users are leveraging our tools to build end-to-end pipelines to power their business.  Learn in-depth about how Kafka and Spark's operate in accelerating data delivery.
