  • Doug Cutting

    Chief Architect at Cloudera

    Doug (@cutting) is the founder of numerous successful open source projects, including Lucene, Nutch, Avro, and Hadoop. Doug joined Cloudera in 2009 from Yahoo!, where he was a key member of the team that built and deployed a production Hadoop storage and analysis cluster for mission-critical business analytics. Doug holds a Bachelor’s degree from Stanford University and sits on the Board of the Apache Software Foundation.

  • Clarke Patterson

    Senior Director Product Marketing at Cloudera

    Clarke Patterson (@clarkepatterson) is the Senior Director of Product Marketing at Cloudera. In this role he is responsible for product, solutions and partner marketing activities supporting Cloudera's Platform for Big Data. Clarke joins Cloudera after spending almost three years in a similar role at Informatica. Prior to Informatica he held product management and marketing positions at IBM and Informix. Clarke brings over 17 years of leadership experience to Cloudera in the areas of product marketing, product management and engineering. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Calgary and an MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.

    R. Balasubramanian (‘Bala’) has rich, varied ~30 years of IT experience. He worked in R&D Labs in India for a decade focusing on compute-centric workloads. He then started his career with Hewlett Packard to manage Performance Labs and also led the Field Technical Consulting for a variety of enterprise and technical computing engagements. He is Cloudera certified too. His interests include AI, Deep Learning in Vision, GIS, Analytics and Cloud technologies.
