Cloudera Manager 4 and CDH 4 have reached End of Maintenance (EOM) on August 9, 2015. Cloudera will not support or provide patches for any of the Cloudera Manager 4 or CDH 4 releases after that date.

Known Issues Fixed in Cloudera Manager 4.6.0

— Sqoop2 Shell integration with Hue requires Hue Safety Valve additions.

In order to use the Sqoop2 Shell with Hue, you must add the following settings to the Hue server safety valve, found under the Hue Server Configuration properties (Hue Server (Base) > Advanced: Hue Server Configuration Safety Valve for hue_safety_valve_server.ini):

Resolution: Fixed in Cloudera manager 4.6.0.

Workaround: As described above.

— Host Monitor cannot collect metrics for some devices.

The Cloudera Manager Host Monitor cannot collect disk metrics for some disk devices. Only disk devices with device files directly in the /dev/ directory will be monitored. For example, LVM devices with device files in the /dev/mapper/ and HP SmartArray devices using the CCISS driver in the /dev/cciss/ directory will not be monitored.

Severity: Med

Resolution: Fixed in Cloudera Manager 4.6.0.

Workaround: None.

— Cloudera Manager does not support JobTracker High Availability

Cloudera Manager currently does not support the JobTracker High Availability feature, released as part of CDH4.2. Customers that are using Cloudera Manager to manage their Hadoop clusters should not use this feature at this time.

Resolution: Fixed in Cloudera Manager 4.6.0.

Workaround: None.

— Port Conflict between CDH4.3 and Cloudera Manager

In CDH4.3, the port used for the HBase Rest Web UI has been changed, and now conflicts with the default port that Cloudera Manager was using for the Host Monitor (HMON) port. If you upgrade to CDH4.3 in Cloudera Manager 4.5 (or earlier) you may encounter this port conflict.

Severity: Low

Resolution: Fixed in Cloudera Manager 4.6.0. HMON now uses 8090 instead of 8085.

Workaround: Upgrade to Cloudera Manager 4.6, or modify the Host Monitor configuration to use a different port.

— In Add Services, Impala appears as an option even if the packages have not been installed.

In the Add Services wizard, Impala will appear as a choice even if the Impala packages have not been installed. This can occur if you have installed CDH4.0 rather than CDH4.1, or if you are running an operating system that Impala does not support (such as Ubuntu or SLES), or if you have simply not installed the Impala packages. The Add Service process will appear to succeed, but the service will not start, and eventually times out with an error.

Severity: Low

Resolution: No longer an issue. Impala now supported on all operating systems that Cloudera Manager supports.

Workaround: None.
