Todd G. Myers - Lead Global Compute Architect - National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA)

Todd G. Myers is the Lead Global Compute Architect to NGA providing collaborative support to the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO), Chief Information Officer (CIO), the Office of the Director of Technology D/T, and advisement for IT Strategic planning across NGA and the Intelligence Community (IC) for NGA. More

Mr. Myers architectural concepts have been used across the Department of Defense (DoD) and the IC in planning of data centers and mobile deployment capabilities. His Global Compute Enterprise strategy outlines the transformational activities for organizations to deliver a fabric of utility computing that scales on-demand and enables self-discovery and self-service access to timely and relevant information.

Mr. Myers is working across the IC in coordination with the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) to architect, implement, and transition to the design patterns of global compute elements for the next generation of data analytics.

Mike Olson, Chief Strategy Officer, Cloudera

Mike (@mikeolson) co-founded Cloudera in 2008 and served as its CEO until 2013 when he took on his current role of chief strategy officer (CSO.) As CSO, Mike is responsible for Cloudera’s product strategy, open source leadership, engineering alignment and direct engagement with customers. Prior to Cloudera Mike was CEO of Sleepycat Software, makers of Berkeley DB, the open source embedded database engine. Matt Carroll, 42Six

Mr. Matthew Carroll is the General Manager of 42six, CSC’s public sector Big Data and Distributed Computing division. He holds the responsibility for delivering high-end software solutions to customers within the Intelligence and Defense communities and currently provides engineering support to cloud computing initiatives at NSA, Army and DIA. Furthermore, 42six maintains 7x open-source programs and is a contributor to key programs for the Intelligence Community such as Accumulo, Titan and Ozone. More

In addition to his duties as the leader of 42six Mr. Carroll also serves as the lead architect for DIA’s ICITE initiative called ORION. As part of this program he provides engineering vision and guidance to DIA functionals and DoD components in support of DIA’s ICITE migration strategy.

Previously, Mr. Carroll served in several roles within the US Army as a Military Intelligence Officer. During this time he supported operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. Mr. Carroll holds degrees in Chemistry, Biochemistry and Biology from Brandeis University and is married with one child.

Eli Collins, Chief Technologist, Office of the CTO, Cloudera

Eli is Cloudera's Chief Technologist. He previously lead Cloudera’s Platform team, is an active contributor to Apache Hadoop and is a member of its project management committee (PMC) at the Apache Software Foundation. Prior to Cloudera, Eli worked on processor virtualization and Linux at VMware. Eli holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Computer Science from New York University and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, respectively.

Joey Echeverria, Chief Architect, Cloudera Government Solutions, Inc.

Joey Echeverria is Director of Federal Field Technical Services at Cloudera where he oversees the public sector Professional Services and Systems Engineering organizations. Joey was previously a Principal Solutions Architect where he worked directly with customers to deploy production Hadoop clusters and solve a diverse range of business and technical problems. More

Joey joined Cloudera from the NSA where he worked on data mining, network security, and clustered data processing using Hadoop. Prior to working full time for NSA, Joey attended Carnegie Mellon University where he attained an M.S. and a B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering.

Mercedes Westcott serves as the Vice President of Public Sector, for Cloudera, Inc., the industry leader in the Big Data and Analytics market. Mercedes also serves on the Federal Advisory Board of Invincea, Inc, a next-generation, detection and prevention, cyber-security software company. Bob Gourley, Editor, CTO Vision

Bob Gourley is the publisher of CTOvision.com and is the founder and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Crucial Point LLC, a technology research and advisory firm. Bob’s first career was as a naval intelligence officer, which included operational tours in Europe and Asia. He was the first Director of Intelligence (J2) at DoD’s cyber defense organization JTF-CND. Following retirement from the Navy Bob was an executive with TRW and Northrop Grumman, and then returned to government service as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA).

Webster Mudge is Sr. Director of Technology Solutions at Cloudera where he strives to bring Hadoop technologies and business objectives together. Previously, Webster held positions in sales and services at companies like Microsoft and FAST Search and Transfer and in software development at firms like Time Inc.

Webster has a deep background in the content management and search industries, and brings more than 20 years of hands-on software and services management.

Amy O'Connor – Big Data Evangelist, Cloudera

Amy is an accomplished cross-functional leader with demonstrated success in Software, Services, Marketing and Information Technology. She is a multi-faceted leader who is decisive, solutions-focused and results-oriented, with rich expertise in building and revitalizing teams, product/services portfolios and processes, and in delivering measurable marketing/technical results that affect real change. Her technical areas of focus include Big Data and analytics, Open source software development, Social Media, Data management, Cloud computing. Amy is presently a Big Data Evangelist for Big Data solutions at Cloudera. Most recently she led the Big Data group at Nokia, and prior to that she was the Vice President of Services Marketing at Sun. She holds her B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Connecticut, and her MBA from Northeastern University.

Eric Sammer, Engineering Manager, Cloudera

Eric manages multiple teams within the engineering organization, focused on platform accessibility for partners and customers. Previously, Eric helped design and build some of the largest systems and clusters with Cloudera customers. He has a background in distributed systems and data center operations and is the author of Hadoop Operations from O'Reilly Media.

David R. Shedd - Deputy Director, Defense Intelligence Agency

Mr. David R. Shedd was named Deputy Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency in August 2010. In this capacity, he assists the Director’s management of a workforce with more than 16,500 military and civilian employees worldwide and his leadership of the Defense Intelligence Enterprise—Defense Intelligence Community organizations within the Department of Defense with an intelligence mission and/or function, plus all their stakeholders involved in creating, sustaining and enhancing mission capacity.

LTG (R) Richard Zahner

Richard P. Zahner was the the 43rd Deputy Chief of Staff, G 2 (Intelligence) of the United States Army. His distinguished 36 year military career included assignments in peace and war, at the tactical and national levels, in both conventional and Special Operations, and within the Army and at Joint and Combined Commands. A 1980 plank owner of the Joint Special Operations Command, he was a cornerstone in the foundation that created the culture of excellence and achievement that exists to this day.

Skip McCormick - Systems Architect, Central Intelligence Agency

Skip is an intelligence officer specialized in large-scale intelligence data systems and teams. Prior posts include Technical Director at The Interoperability Clearinghouse and Lead Engineer in Multidisciplinary Network Systems & Distributed Systems at MITRE. He has also co-authored several books including "AntiPatterns: Refactoring Software. Architectures, and Projects in Crisis", "AntiPatterns in Project Management", and "AntiPatterns and Patterns in Software Configuration".
