451 Report: Gazzang launches custodian vault as a service to contain key, security material sprawl
Once the keys, files, materials and tokens are resident on the zTrustee service, organizations can implement a set of policies on how and to whom the keys are programmatically released over a secure connection, assign revocation and expirations dates, and delegate a trustee to the material to underpin authorization processes, as well as separation of duties. Alternatively, zTrustee can act as an escrow server for shared keys. Consistent with its focus on tools for the practitioner, the first iteration of the service will have a command line interface, accessed through an SSH client running on server and mobile platforms, with a set of workflows. Also in the works is a cross-platform monitoring and management service using a MongoDB that Gazzang is calling zOps, which would expose the logging and activity events generated by zTrustee.
