451 Report: Gazzang wants to keep your data safe, no matter where it's stored
As an example of the confluence of cloud and big data, Gazzang has worked with Amazon Web Services to layer encryption into Amazon Elastic Map Reduce, and recently did the same with Rackspace's Hadoop cloud, as well. Coupled with its own key management system, zTrustee, Gazzang uses its file-system-shimming technology in zNcrypt to seamlessly encrypt and decrypt files. Gazzang intends to make it easier to protect data in public and private cloud platforms with a focus on big-data use cases. In addition to securing big data, this directly addresses the number-one barrier to cloud adoption: security.
