- Training VMWare Image version 0.3.3
-
- (md5: 1d8e46eca5f64fe864d378ec65436c74)
- Note: This VM download is approximately 1GB. Feel free to mirror internally or externally to minimize bandwidth usage.
- To make it easy for you to get started with Hadoop and complete our various training exercises, we created a virtual machine with everything you need. Our VM includes Cloudera’s Distribution for Hadoop and all of our example code, as well as Eclipse and other standard tools.
- To launch the VMWare image, you will either need VMware Player for Windows and Linux, or VMware Fusion for Mac. (Note that VMware Fusion only works on Intel architectures, so older Macs with PowerPC processors cannot run the training VM.)
- Once you launch the VM, log in with the following account details:
-
- username: training
- password: training
- After downloading the VM, make sure you also have the most recent version of the exercises. Open a terminal and type the following:
- $ cd ~/git
$ ./update-exercises --workspace
- This ensures that any updates pushed out by Cloudera are integrated into your copy of the virtual machine.
- The VM’s version of Hadoop is CDH2, based on Apache Hadoop 0.20.
