Cloudera’s commitment to building an inclusive workplace is an important part of the company’s culture. From our Capable Employee Resource Group (ERG) to the programs and resources available to employees, we continue to look for ways to strengthen inclusion across the organization.
After being named as a best place to work for disability inclusion in 2025, the newly released 2026 Disability Index report recognized Cloudera’s level of disability inclusion as “Advanced” —one of the highest scores issued by the report. This reflects Cloudera’s work to support all employees, including employees with disabilities, and provide the resources and accommodations they need to succeed.
The Disability Index is a global benchmark that helps companies assess their performance in disability inclusion. This year, the Index was measured against different parts of the employee experience, including accessibility and accommodations, benefits, leadership, recruitment, career development and culture.
What Disability Inclusion Looks Like at Cloudera
Disability inclusion touches many different parts of the employee experience at Cloudera, including leadership, benefits, IT, learning, recruiting and culture. It’s something that you can see across the company’s many ERGs, workplace initiatives like Season of Service, and frequent designations as a Best Place to Work.
Having such a comprehensive approach to building an inclusive culture matters because the support an individual needs can vary, from the time they consider joining Cloudera through onboarding and throughout their career.
That journey is something that looks different for every Clouderan.
For one employee, that might mean having access to the right software or equipment; for another, it might mean providing access to hearing aids or an adjustment so they can work comfortably and effectively. The training initiatives Cloudera provides also help ensure disability inclusion is integrated into the employee experience and available from the day a new-hire starts the onboarding process.
ERGs are a core part of what makes Cloudera special—including the Capable ERG, which offers a space focused on disability inclusion and opportunities to connect with colleagues and receive support. Leadership advocacy also helps strengthen inclusion across the company. Just as importantly, disability inclusion comes down to understanding the individual.
When someone raises an issue or asks for support, there is always a concerted effort to both understand what they need and to identify the right resources or accommodations. That could mean providing workplace accommodations, recommending IT equipment or helping an employee connect with the right support group.
The goal is always to help Clouderans feel seen and supported, with the tools and resources they need to do their best work.
Continuing to Build a Workplace for Everyone
Beyond being an important honor and distinction for Cloudera as a company, the Disability Index provides a useful standard to understand where our programs and resources are working well and where we still have opportunities to improve. That makes the Index more than a recognition of the work already underway.
Participating in the Index also gives us another way to evaluate what we have in place today and consider how we can continue supporting employees in the future. Earning an Advanced designation is a milestone we’re proud of, but the work behind the score is what makes it meaningful.
Every Clouderan deserves to feel seen, supported and comfortable asking for what they need, with access to the resources and tools that help them do their best work.
