Justin Norman


Justin leads Cloudera's Fast Forward Labs team. Justin is a career data professional and Data Science leader with experience in multiple industries and companies. Previously, Justin was the head of Applied Machine Learning at Fitbit, the head of Cisco’s Enterprise Data Science Office and a Big Data Systems Engineer with Booz Allen Hamilton after serving as a Marine Corps Officer, with a focus in Systems Analytics and Device Intelligence. Justin is a graduate of the US Naval Academy with a degree in Computer Science and the University of Southern California with a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and Business Analytics.

Victor Dibia


Victor Dibia is a Research Engineer at Cloudera Fast Forward Labs. He spends his time researching and prototyping ideas at the intersection of Machine Learning and Human Computer Interaction. Victor has delivered talks/workshops at industry conferences such as SXSW, WebSummit, NVIDIA GTC and has published research at academic venues such as AAAI, ACM CHI, and IEEEVis. His research work has been recognized with best paper awards at conferences such as AAAI, and IEEEVis. He was previously a Research Staff Member at the IBM TJ Watson Research Center, Technical Instructor at MIT and a startup founder. Victor holds an MSc in Information Networking Carnegie Mellon University and a PhD in Information Systems from City University of Hong Kong.

Ryan Micallef


Ryan Micallef is a research engineer at Cloudera Fast Forward Labs. He researches emerging machine learning technologies and helps clients apply them. Ryan is also an attorney barred in New York. He was an intellectual property litigator focused on technical cases for almost a decade before joining Fast Forward Labs. Ryan has a bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Georgia Tech and a Juris Doctor degree from Brooklyn Law School. Ryan spends his free time soldering circuits and wrenching motorcycles. He teaches microcontroller programming at his local hackerspace, NYC Resistor.

Bethann Noble
Research Engineer, Cloudera Fast Forward Labs

Seth Hendrickson


Seth Hendrickson is an Apache Spark committer and a research engineer at Cloudera Fast Forward Labs, where he helps enterprise customers apply emerging machine learning techniques. Previously, he was one of the core developers for the Apache Spark machine learning library, where he contributed new algorithms and supported the open source community. Seth is passionate about enabling data scientists in all industries with cutting edge machine learning tools through open source development. He holds an MS in electrical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Grant Custer


Grant Custer is a designer-developer at Cloudera Fast Forward Labs, where he works with the research team to build prototypes and write reports on near future technologies.
