Mark Chisam is member of the Cloudera Field Customer Enablement team in the role of Sr. System Engineer. Previously, Mark spent 16 years as an Industry Architect at Sun Microsystems and Oracle. Over a 6 year tenure at Cloudera, Mark has assisted customers to advance the potential of Big Data, Data Science and Machine Learning into real business value. His customer base and expertise spans the financial, telco and retail/manufacturing industries. Mark is a University of Maryland Computer Science graduate with over 25 years of experience as an developer and architect.

Started out as a scientist in computational biophysics, completing his PhD at University of Oxford followed by several years of research in the US. He then worked at the marketing firm Omnicom as a manager in data science, before joining Bardess to build out and lead the data science practice.
