Program Provides Partners with Necessary Resources to Develop and Certify Cutting-Edge Applications on Leading Tools

PALO ALTO, Calif., – November 10, 2014 – Cloudera, the leader in enterprise analytic data management powered by Apache Hadoop™, recently launched the Cloudera Accelerator Program to help partners develop and certify innovative applications on Impala, the leading analytic database for Hadoop. The Cloudera Accelerator Program ensures customers always have access to the leading, production-ready applications built on the most popular tools in Hadoop. To date, the Cloudera Accelerator Program has accepted 25 partners planning to build out their applications on Impala, including many of the leading analytics and BI vendors.

Impala is the state-of-the-art analytic database built specifically to leverage the flexibility and scalability strengths of Hadoop, combined with the performance, usability, and SQL functionality necessary for an enterprise-grade analytic database. The strong adoption and robust capabilities have led to many companies developing applications on top of Impala. With the Accelerator Program for Impala, partners work closely with Cloudera to develop and certify these applications and bring them to market more quickly to solve new and challenging customer use cases.

“Adoption of Impala has accelerated over the past 18 months among organizations of all sizes, including over one million open source downloads and hundreds of Cloudera customers,” said Tim Stevens, vice president, Business and Corporate Development, Cloudera. “We are dedicated to continuously evolve our partner and developer communities and help our partners bring their applications to Impala is another important step in doing so. With the Cloudera Accelerator Program we are further advancing the Hadoop ecosystem and providing customers with leading, integrated technologies.”

Cloudera is committed to driving the standards for a community-driven, open source, Hadoop-based platform. To help meet that goal, Cloudera is working with its partners to bring to market technology advances that benefit all customers across a vast number of industries. The Accelerator Program allows Cloudera partners even more access to these open source solutions, in order to extend the value of their applications and make them more capable and agile to handle today’s workloads. The Accelerator Program currently supports partners for applications built on Impala and Apache Spark, another popular and powerful framework for Hadoop.
