Cloudera will take part in a number of events at SXSW: a hackathon to help find missing children, ‘Smart City’ Day and an AI for Good panel.


SXSW Childfinder Hackathon

The Cloudera Cares team, in partnership with The National Center of Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and Intel will be kicking off a month long virtual hackathon at SXSW. The hackathon will focus on finding innovative ways to scrape the public web for information on how to locate missing children. Specifically, hackathon participants will be working on finding data pertaining to missing children in the Austin area.

Smart City Day at SXSW

Cloudera is a community sponsor of Smart City Day at SXSW, presented by US Ignite, Glasshouse Policy and Digi.City. The day will encompass a series of 10-minute lightening talks from smart city leaders from around the world including mayors, city technology and innovation officers, startups and community advocates.

SXSW Panel: AI for Good: Harnessing Power to Solve Problems

This panel will focus on harnessing AI (artificial intelligence) for good, specifically about how AI can help in the fight to end child exploitation, and improve efficiency and response time to find missing and exploited children.
