He is participating in a panel presentation that will put a spotlight on four emerging big data management technologies – columnar, NoSQL, Hadoop & OLTP (online transaction processing) and explore appropriate use cases for each class of solution.

According to the conference program, the objective of this meeting is to stimulate discussion around non-traditional big data alternatives that are mature enough to have production installations. Use case presentations will also be given by Infobright, 10gen and VoltDB.

Director of Educational Services Sarah Sproehnle will be presenting at Oracle Open World 2010 on Sunday, September 19th at 1:05 p.m. PT at Moscone Center’s Golden Gate C1 room in San Francisco. She will be speaking about “leveraging Hadoop to augment MySQL deployments.” Her session will educate attendees on how to deal with petabytes of data while using current systems and allowing for complex analysis of enter data sets.

According to the conference program, Oracle Open World is the world’s largest gathering for Oracle technologists, business users and partners.
